Rick retired from law enforcement after 12 years after receiving serious injuries while arresting a drug dealer.
In the early 90's Rick worked as a consultant to
Fireman's Fund,
Traveler's,
Sedgwick James,
CIGNA, and self insured companies like McDonnell Douglas and Kraft Foods. He assisted in developing their anti-fraud (SIU's) and workers' compensation fraud programs in California, Illinois, and Missouri.
Rick worked for
Progressive Insurance for eight years managing their fraud program in the western 27 states. He managed the
Financial Crimes Unit for American Express prior to joining Infinity.
Rick has testified before the
US Congress relative to fraud issues in government programs. He has also testified before the CA State Senate Insurance Committee and before the Department of Insurance Fraud Division. Rick is the
former president of IASIU, the International Association of Special Investigators, and he has served in the past on the
San Diego District Attorney's advisory board. He has served as an instructor at the
San Diego Police Academy and he has lectured nationally on fraud related topics. Rick has additionally served on the CA Chiropractic Board Fraud committee and the CA Governor's Workers' Compensation Fraud Reform Committee.
